Candidate Statement:

From my beginnings in college as a lab technician, it has been my honor to serve my community as a water professional throughout my career. While leading local, regional, and state water agencies, I have dealt with a wide variety of complex water supply issues including water quality, wastewater management, flood protection and affordability. I am now running for a place at the table as Director of the Eastern Municipal Water District, because I remain committed to using the knowledge, skills and expertise I have gained over the years to ensure a stable, reliable water supply, sustainable even through challenging years of drought.

I believe drinking water quality is a critical issue and should never be ignored or avoided. We must always be aware of how our decisions impact the residents, the natural resources and economies of our communities. I am also committed to maintaining a transparent, open decision making process in cooperation and respect of colleagues and fellow community members. Values count, so it has always been important to me to seek to understand issues first and to make decisions based on facts.

I hope to continue to serve in the water industry, to produce the most reliability, high quality and affordable rates possible as a Director on the Eastern Municipal Water District Board.
