Palm-lined street with parked cars, colorful storefronts, mountains in the background, and clear blue sky, creating a relaxed, sunny mood.

Another important infrastructure project is underway right here in Hemet, and I want to ensure you’re informed. Starting this July, the State Street Pipeline Replacement Project will begin construction, bringing long-overdue upgrades to our water system and improving service reliability for residents and businesses.

This is part of a continued effort to modernize aging infrastructure and ensure that our water delivery system keeps pace with the needs of our growing community.

What’s the Project About?

This project, done in partnership with the City of Hemet, will replace approximately 3,000 feet of aging 20-inch steel pipeline located along State Street, between Stetson Avenue and Chambers Street.

The existing pipeline has been in the ground for decades and is now approaching the end of its useful life. In fact, it has been encroached upon in multiple areas, making it more difficult—and more expensive—to maintain.

By replacing it now, we’re avoiding costly repairs down the road and improving operational efficiency for everyone who depends on this system.

Timeline and What to Expect

Construction is set to begin by mid-July 2025 and is expected to continue through summer 2026. The work will be staged to minimize disruption as much as possible, but as always, there may be temporary noise, dust, and traffic impacts.

Please be patient with any temporary inconveniences—it’s all part of building a more reliable future for our community.

Why It Matters

Every time we replace old infrastructure with something more durable, we’re investing in long-term water security. Projects like this ensure fewer breaks, better water pressure, and more efficient service for homes, schools, and businesses throughout Hemet.

And thanks to strong partnerships—like this one with the City of Hemet—we’re able to move these projects forward in a way that benefits all of us.

I’ll continue to keep you updated on progress as work gets underway. In the meantime, if you live or drive along State Street, keep an eye out for construction signage and traffic changes—and give a wave to the hardworking crews keeping our water system running strong.

Thanks for staying informed and involved.
